Bassi Pathana Community Collaborative Development Project (BP-CCDP)

This pilot project is an emerging collaboration between the Mehar Baba Charitable Trust, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Schoof of Public Health (PGIMER-SPH) and University of Utah Division of Public Health USA and community leaders and members of nine villages in the Fategarh Sahib district of Punjab.The objective of the BP-CCDP is based on principles of collaborative community development with a focus on long-term solutions that promote community level self-reliance. The project will focus on medical education and research, sustainable village health development, and entrepreneurial cooperatives.

MBCT Team Hosted the Hinckley InternsDaniel Eike And CristiannaTu From May to August for BPCCDP(Bassi Pathana Communiny Collaborative Developement Project)2015.During there visit Daniel carried out Growth Monitoring Children for age group 0 to 5 years from the nine BPCCDP Villages.



Sustainable Village Progam Principles

  • Define the project site
  • Create a collaborative board with representation from all participating partners – lead by member from host country with specific representation from project site community leaders and residents
  • Conduct a community needs assessment and resource inventory across the project site
  • Prioritize setting guided by collaborative board with specific emphasis on community input (informed by the results of the community needs assessment and resource inventory)
  • Develop initial intervention targets and plan – with specific focus on community leadership and capacity building
  • Conduct interventions with both process and outcome evaluation
  • Review intervention progress – make adjustments as necessary
  • Conduct final analysis of intervention impact
  • Update needs assessment and resource inventory – repeat process of priority setting and intervention planning and implementation

    Disaster Management Training

    Mehar Baba Charitable Trust is selected as ‘The District Representative’ for Disaster Management Training by District Authorities of Fatehgarh Sahib.

    Volunteer Force:
    In the process, we have created a Trained Volunteer Force.

    Social awareness against evil practices of society

  • MBCT Follows the “GREEN” Path

    “Be the change you want to see” applies aptly to MBCT. The Community Center Building designed by famous architect Manmohan Singh Virdi has incorporated light & energy saving design. Solar water heating system has been installed in the building. MBCT field workers use Electric Scooters. Rain Water Harvesting, Village Pond rehabilitation, awareness on judicious use of ground water resources; maintaining water purity are some of the projects undertaken by the Trust.

    Other Socio-Care activities

  • Agri Clinics for conducting workshops / seminars on Agri-business, Crop pattern, Crop marketing for farmers of the region.
  • Protecting the heritage and culture of the region and providing a forum for rural Art and Craft.
