Mehar Baba Charitable Trust is actively working with some of the top names in medical professions (such as PGIMER-SPH) to provide free Medi-Care services to the under-previleged people of 187 Villages falling under Fatehgarh Sahib Distt.
Our team of field workers regularly visits these villages to do the pre-registration of patients. All pre-registered patients are then brought and catered at our monthly organised OPD at Bassi Pathana MHKCDC.

MBCT(Mehar Baba Charitable Trust) team the Trust carries out IEC Activities providing health related information, educating the villagers, and communicating the ways to combat diseases. MBCT Team Conducted the Roadshow on Date 24th August,2016 (Wednesday) at village Jai Singh wala (Dist.Fatehgarh Sahib).In this Roadshow people of village aware about BP And Diabetes and free checkup for Diabetes or BP was conducted by MBCT and PGIMER-SPH. Team from PGIMER-School of Public Health Comprising of community health doctors Dr. Menmeet Kaur (Additional Professor of SPH-PGIMER), Dr. Tarundeep Singh, Dr. Sonia , Ms. Arwinder Kaur, Ms. Jyoti and Mr. Gopal. This Roadshow was success with the help of village people those name's are Kuldeep Singh (Sarpanch), Rulda Singh (Ex-Sarpanch), Amritpal Kaur (Asha Worker), Kulwinder Kaur (Anganwadi worker) and Jagroop Singh (School Teacher).
Village Jai Singh Wala (District Fatehgarh Sahib) has a population of 338 with 69 households. The village Sarpanch Mr. Kuldeep Singh, ex sarpanch Mr. Rulda Singh and health workers Ms. Amritpal Kaur and Kulwinder Kaur helped mobilise the small community for health checkups and screening. Dr. Tarundeep Singh and Mr Gopal carried out health checkups. As a result of free screening for Diabetes, Hypertension and Anaemia, 4 (2 men, 2 women) were detected diabetic and 7 (3 men, 4 women) screened positive for hypertension.

Dr. Sonia and Ms Jyoti, SPH-PGIMER counselled the community members ASHA workers and Anganwadi Workers regarding healthy eating habits and healthy life style. She emphasised on the importance of healthy food for healthy and lasting life. She also talked about Nutrition and Sanitation and educated the people as to how adopting healthy behaviour reduces toll of ill health on future generations by reducing the chances of Anaemia among children.
The first roadshow in this village was organised in June 2009. Total 55 (21men, 34 women) community members were screened. Seven people (3 males, 4 females) were screened positive for diabetes and 7 were screened positive for hypertension (5 men, 2 women). The impact of Health Awareness Roadshows is such that villagers are becoming aware about the detrimental impact of diabetes and hypertension; need for regular screening and medication.
The sarpanch Mr. Kuldeep Singh appreciated the efforts of MBTrust for the betterment of rural health. He said that it was a marvellous approach for doctors reaching out to the community as the village people often suffer because of shortage or non-availability of the doctors and healthcare services.
